Toy Car Care in Centennial knows how much our clients love their compact hatchback Toyota vehicles, and it’s good to know that Scion lives on in the new Toyota Corolla iM. Are you looking for bold and interesting? Then, you will be happy to know that Toyota delivers on every level. Read on to learn about the new Toyota Corolla iM – we’re sure you will love what you see.
To better explain this shift to buyers of the Scion iM, Toyota has changed the existing and well-known model names to create the Toyota Corolla iM hatchback and the Toyota Yaris iA sedan. The 2017 Corolla iM will be identical to the Scion, which will come with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder with a six-speed manual or a CVT automatic. You will also get an aero body kit, a 7.0-inch touchscreen, and active safety tech with automated emergency braking. As for the power, the iM has a 137-hp four-cylinder engine that drives the front wheels, and it looks good too!
With an array of colors to choose from such as Black Sand Pearl, Blizzard Pearl, Classic Silver Metallic, Barcelona Red Metallic, Spring Green and Electric Storm Blue, you will certainly have the ability to turn a few heads. The classic interior fabric in black goes well with whatever color you opt for. Inside also has dual-zone automatic climate control, leather steering wheel, and shift knob, backup camera, and a touchscreen infotainment system, nicely finished leather-like dashboard, and the accents are stylish.
You also get keyless ignition and entry, dual-zone climate control and power-folding heated mirrors, LED taillights and running lights, and standard 17″ allow wheels wrapped in low-profile tires keep this striking car at a head turning level. There is an abundance of soft-touch and padded surfaces, and the center console, in particular, features a cushioned area for the driver’s leg covered in simulated leather.
If you are tall, you will have enough head and legroom in the front, but the rear seat isn’t as welcoming, there’s enough headroom, but legroom is lacking. Pretty standard for a compact car. Cargo capacity measures 20.8 cubic feet behind the rear seats, but is exceptionally wide, with the upright hatch and fold-down seatbacks providing extra space for items.
Moving on to visibility, that is pretty good because of the raked-back windshield and narrow roof pillars. However, the rear hatch window is tiny, and you will rely heavily on the rearview camera.
How does it drive? Well, it looks sporty enough, but the iM’s performance is not beefy. The four-cylinder enginecan be somewhat noisy but not all that powerful. The ride is impressive though, demonstrating that the Toyota Corolla iM can soak up a lot of bumps while still maintaining a sense of control. If you are in the market for an inexpensive hatchback, this may just be the one for you.
